ESG COURSE PART 2 BROCHURE
Environmental, Social and Governance is the collection of non financial factors that are used to assess a company’s environmental sustainability, social impact and governance mechanisms. Investors are increasingly considering these factors to balance sustainable growth and maximization of profits. Environmental evaluation includes factors such as destruction of natural resources, emission of waste into water bodies, release of hazardous chemicals, and destruction of natural habitats. Social evaluation assesses a company’s impact on its employees, customers, host communities and other factors such as inclusive policies towards minorities and marginalized groups. Governance goes back to the principles of corporate governance which include accountability, transparency,
responsibility and risk management. It is therefore imperative that companies embrace Environmental, Social and Governance reporting to ensure they balance stakeholder interests and shareholder satisfaction.
The Institute of Certified Secretaries has therefore designed this training to equip participants with the requisite knowledge on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
