CS Joyce Njeri Mukururi is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, admitted to the Bar in October 2006. She is a practicing Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K), registered in May 2009. She is also an Accredited Governance Auditor by the Institute of Certified Secretaries and a Certified Professional Mediator.
CS Mukururi is currently serving as the Corporation Secretary at Athi Water Works Development Agency, a state corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation.
She has previously served as Company Secretary in various sectors including Mining, Reinsurance, Hospitality, Education, Real Estate, and Medical. In these roles, she assisted the respective boards in setting up governance structures, developing and/or reviewing board charters, effectively managing meetings, and addressing general advisory and compliance issues.
At the Institute, she is currently serving her second term as a Trustee and vice-chairperson of the ICPSK Benevolent Fund. She is also serving as the Chairperson of the State Corporations ICS Caucus Group, where she has been engaging with SCAC to address governance issues in state corporations. Specifically, she facilitated a capacity-building workshop on Board Evaluations for State Corporations in 2022 and is advocating for the gazettement of Accredited Governance Auditors.
CS Mukururi is a recipient of a commendation award from the Institute for her outstanding contribution to the activities of the Institute and the profession at large.
